How long have you been coaching?
I have been coaching since the beginning of 2019.

Why CrossFit?
Growing up you could always find me playing sports - badminton, figure skating, soccer, etc, but after graduating from college I stopped playing sports regularly so I needed to find another way to stay active. For multiple years I went to an Anytime Fitness, but I found myself getting bored with my workouts.  In 2016, I stepped into my first CrossFit gym and one class was all it took for me to realize that the community, coaching and positivity of CrossFit was exactly what I needed. I love that every day I am challenged to push myself both mentally and physically and that there is always room to learn and improve.

Favorite Modality or Benchmark workout and why

My favorite modality is weightlifting, or more specifically Olympic Weightlifting. I love Olympic Weightlifting because to be really good at the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk you not only need to be strong, but you also have to focus on all of the technical pieces of each lift and learning those technical pieces really excites me.

Favorite Cheat Food/Meal

Can I just eat Reese’s Peanut Butter cups for every meal…?

What is a song you can find on your workout playlist?
(What can a member expect to hear when you are coaching?)

If you walked into the gym and you saw me singing along to a song and you asked me what song I was singing and who sang it, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I know song lyrics but I really don’t know song names or artists and because of that I have never actually created a playlist before. I like to choose random playlists because I can workout to pretty much anything!

Best advice to a new prospective member trying CrossFit
for the first time.

CrossFit is a lifelong journey to creating a healthy lifestyle. Enjoy the community and remember that this journey is for you. Celebrate the small wins and when you find yourself comparing yourself to others, look back to when you first started and remind yourself how far you’ve come.
