How long have you been coaching?
As a strength and conditioning coach since 2005, and specifically CrossFit since 2012. I trained/coached full time for 11 years.
#1 - The People
#2 - The Results
I’ve been in the fitness industry a long time. I feel fortunate to be involved with Lake Washington CrossFit because it has given me the opportunity to build relationships with so many incredible people. CrossFit as a fitness program, has proven over and over again that if applied properly it will improve the health and fitness level of anyone, at any stage of life.
Favorite Modality or Benchmark workout and why
It is such a simple workout, doesn’t take much time, but is such a physical, mental and even emotional test. I’ve done it countless times, and every time I get nervous because I know what lies ahead.
CrossFit’s founder, Greg Glassman was once asked what 5 workouts he is most proud of. His answer was Fran, Fran, Fran, Fran and Fran.
Favorite Cheat Food/Meal
Pizza - without question.
What is a song you can find on your workout playlist?
(What can a member expect to hear when you are coaching?)
I don’t ever touch the music, I leave whatever the last coach had playing until someone asks me to change it. When I’m working out I don’t even hear it so I only care about the last song before the workout starts. Anything fast and loud will get me going.
Best advice to a new prospective member trying CrossFit
for the first time.
If you’re excited and ready to go, that’s great! It’s also 100% ok to be a little nervous or intimidated before you walk in for the first time. We’ve all been there, and most remember the feeling. Just come in and give it a try. We have an awesome community of athletes and coaches that will welcome you, show you around and make sure you get a great workout.
