Why CrossFit?
It is hands down the most fun way to workout, and no matter what your athletic background is you will find it challenging. We can scale and modify the workouts to fit any fitness level. "The magic is in the movement, the art is in the programming, the science is in the explanation, and the fun is in the community" -Greg Glassman, Founder and creator of CrossFit

Favorite Modality or Benchmark workout and why:

Is the CrossFit Total a workout? I love most barbell workouts but my passion is training with strongman implements, which is why we are one of the only gyms that consistently trains with Atlas Stones. We also do a lot of odd object carrying as Strongman training has a lot of carryover to CrossFit. It is directly related to functional movement and functional strength that is needed by all athletes of all skill levels and all ages ranges. Out of the non-barbell-centric workouts, I really like "Flight Simulator," "Fight Gone Bad" and I love a classic "Tabata" workout.

Favorite Cheat Food/Meal
Pizza and Beer. There is no other answer.

What is a song you can find on your workout playlist?
(What can a member expect to hear when you are coaching?)

If you hear old school speed metal and thrash metal pumping through the speakers when you walk in, there's a good chance that I'm on the floor coaching that day.

Best advice to a new prospective member trying CrossFit
for the first time.

  1. Take your time and enjoy learning new things, you don't need to learn everything at once.

  2. Become brilliant at the basics and everything will improve.

  3. You might not get a PR every time that you come in the door, but if you do your best every time you come in, you will see results and you will keep improving for years and years.

  4.  Don't be afraid to ask questions. We are here to help you!

  5. You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
